I’m Neal Gaudet — a drummer, audio professional and lifelong gear obsessive. I’ve spent decades working in music, recording, film and television audio, live production and broadcast, while continuing to do the thing that started all of it: playing drums.

DrumRunners is about getting closer to the instruments we play — how they sound, how they're recorded, how they're built, how they're set up, and how they perform in the real world. Expect kit profiles, cymbal demos, recording experiments, gear reviews, interviews and deep dives into things only drummers care about.

Some gear will be new. Some old. Some expensive. Some definitely not. If it sounds good, works well, solves a problem — or is just interesting — it belongs here.
